Project Closing Conference

“Conservation of habitat 8310 of the Natura 2000 Site Cheile Nerei – Beuşniţa”

On 13.12.2024, starting at 12:00, we organized the Project Closing Conference “Conservation of habitat 8310 of the Natura 2000 Site Cheile Nerei – Beuşniţa” – LIFE 13NAT/RO/001488, in Timișoara, at the headquarters of the Timiș Environmental Protection Agency in Timișoara within the LIFE 13 NAT /RO/001488 project “Conservation of habitat 8310 of the Natura 2000 Site Cheile Nerei – Beuşniţa”, with the aim of informing target groups and the general public about the efforts undertaken to achieve the project objectives, presenting the results obtained during the project implementation period.

The project was carried out between 01.07.2014-15.12.2024, and has a value of 849,430.00 euros and is financed by the LIFE + Nature program and the Ministry of Environment, Waters and Forests. The LIFE 13 NAT /RO/001488 project “Conservation of habitat 8310 from the Natura 2000 Cheile Nerei – Beuşniţa Site” was implemented by the Timiş Environmental Protection Agency for a period in partnership with the Exploratorii Association, after the withdrawal of the partner from the project we continued the collaboration with the Exploratorii Association.

At the opening of the conference, Ms. Executive Director, Alina Lavinia CĂLUȘERU briefly presented the purpose and objectives of the project and congratulated the project team for the effort made to achieve the project objectives.

Ms. Georgeta ȚÎȚAN, as project manager, presented in detail the activities and results obtained within the project.

Ms. Narcisa CRISTA, specialist in monitoring habitat 8310 and monitoring bat species, presented in detail the monitoring of the impact of actions on habitat 8310, as well as the monitoring of the effects of actions on bat species. The field work method, data collection, data processing and the results obtained were presented.

The event was attended by over 25 people, representatives of local public institutions, Timiș County Council, Timișoara City Hall, environmental NGOs and colleagues from the Timiș Environmental Protection Agency.
